With over 20+ years in the business, he has built up a reputation for strategizing the proper solutions to streamlining business operations as well as assisting in the implementation of proper controls, training and re-engineering. His forward thinking has effectively driven business to be more efficient, scalable, and better prepared as they enter their next phase.
Origins
How We Got Here
Mr. Raymond has spent his entire investment management career in fund operations and systems development. His last roll as Chief Operating Officer / Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for Blueshift Capital, a commodity hedge fund, he led the company from 2014 to 2016. From 2008 to 2013, Ron was the Director of Operations at Vermillion Asset Management LLC, a group of commodity hedge funds. Ron also led Operations at Dreman Value Management, where he was responsible for all non-investment related business functions in hedge funds, separate accounts and mutual funds. At Fiduciary Trust/Franklin Templeton International before Dreman, he managed an India-based technology development team supporting more than 20 software applications. At Arnhold & S. Bleichroeder, Ron managed the portfolio systems team, supporting a dozen hedge funds and the First Eagle mutual fund family. Prior to Bleichroeder, Ron was the head of operations for hedge fund start-up March Partners. He started his career in hedge funds in operations at Appaloosa Management. Ron has a BS in Finance from Rutgers University.

I successfully implemented Advent Geneva in 4 months with an existing team.  I was brought on board with Vermillion to implement Advent Geneva in August of 2008. I successfully went live on January 2009. It was integrated with drop copies of electronic trades and the existing reconciliation system. It fed our risk system for reporting and became the center hub for validating and capturing all of our trades, customized reporting and verifying our NAV with the fund administrator.

I successfully implemented a reconciliation system for Dreman Value Management. The process that existed was very manual. I'm implemented a out of the box software that reconciled to our banks next day. It brought our reconciliation time down by 95% and allowed closing times to be reduced on average by 15 days.

I successfully built out a separate physical database to track all of our physical positions. When our commodity fund elected to get stopped on futures, we needed to know where our actual material was located, accrue for storage, fineness, weight, as well as as valuation, This helped our PM's hedge properly against the actual weight, elect to release the specified receipts, and assist with risk reporting (as we could quickly track physical locations for any geo-political activities).
